Within the framework of the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Tajikistan and his participation in the SCO Summit on September 16, 2021 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Usmonzoda Usmonali Yunusali a Business Forum of Tajikistan and Pakistan took place.

The forum was attended by over 150 participants from both sides, including heads and officials of ministries and departments, entrepreneurs and investors, as well as representatives of companies and enterprises from various sectors of the economy of Tajikistan and Pakistan in the field of industry, education, transport, communications, food, health, tourism and other areas.

Within the framework of the forum, the participants were familiarized with investment opportunities in tourism, industry, energy, services and other areas, as well as discussed joint cooperation projects.

It was noted that bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is developing jointly in the areas of export, attracting investment and import of modern technologies, strengthening bilateral economic and investment cooperation.

It was noted that in 2020 the trade turnover between the two countries reached
$ 25.8 million, which is 54.1% of the bilateral trade turnover in 2019.

As part of this event, a number of new documents on cooperation between the public and private sectors of the two countries were signed.

Also, within the framework of the Forum, the Joint Business Council of Tajikistan and Pakistan and a bilateral meeting of entrepreneurs of the two countries in the format "Entrepreneur with Entrepreneur" (B2B) were held, following which new documents on cooperation were agreed and signed.

Participants of the Tajik-Pakistani business forum highly appreciated the development of bilateral relations and the signing of mutually beneficial agreements and treaties covering all areas of economic cooperation. The parties agreed to hold similar business forums on a regular basis.
